How One Spin Plays Out

A single spin can run through several rounds of tumbles; following one sequence shows every mechanic in order.

1. Forty-nine candies land on the 7x7 grid;
2. Any group of five or more matching candies touching horizontally or vertically is paid and removed;
3. Each removed position is marked; new candies fall into the gaps;
4. If a new cluster forms, it pays too, and a position removed for the second time shows a x2 multiplier;
5. The sequence ends when no cluster forms; in the base game the marks then clear.

Multiplier Spots: the Maths

A marked position doubles with every further removal: x2, x4, x8, x16, x32, x64, x128, x256, x512 and finally x1,024 on the eleventh removal. A cluster is multiplied by the spots it covers, and several spots under one cluster are added together. In practice a base-game spin rarely gets past x8; the high values belong to the free spins, where marks never reset.

Free Spins

Three or more lollipop scatters start the feature: 10 spins for three, 12 for four, 15 for five, 20 for six and 30 for seven. Multiplier spots stay on the grid for the whole bonus, so the later spins of a long feature are where the paytable's top rows meet the largest multipliers. Additional scatters during the feature add spins on the same scale.

Bonus Buy Economics

Where NK101 shows the buy button, two purchases are offered. The regular buy costs 100x the bet and starts the free spins with a clean grid; the super buy costs 500x and starts with x16 in the centre and rings of x8, x4 and x2 around it. The studio quotes 96.52% for the regular buy and 96.55% for the super buy, so neither changes the long-run return much; what changes is the size of the swings per purchase. A 500x buy on a NPR 20 bet is NPR 10,000 for one feature.
